At the National Centre for Energy Efficiency and Conservation (NCEEC), we're dedicated to minimizing energy waste and promoting energy-efficient technologies. As part of our commitment, we've established Centers of Excellence for testing energy-efficient appliances like Compact Fluorescent Lamps (CFLs) and Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) under the UNDP-GEF Nigeria Energy Efficiency Project.
Equipment Donation: Through the UNDP-GEF project, we procured and donated cutting-edge testing equipment to the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) and NCEEC. These resources empower us to rigorously assess lighting systems in Nigeria.
Product Specification Verification: Our testing facilities enable manufacturers and importers of lighting products to verify their specifications. This helps them ensure compliance with both local and international standards, fostering confidence in the quality of their products.
Lighting Compliance Study: NCEEC actively participated in the UNDP-GEF Nigerian Lighting Compliance Study. This comprehensive baseline survey allowed us to create a valuable product database for lamps available in the Nigerian appliances market.
Capacity Building: We've been at the forefront of developing expertise in lamp testing. Our facilities and skilled professionals can verify the claims made by manufacturers, as indicated on product labels.
In collaboration with the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), NCEEC now offers lamp testing services to manufacturers, importers, and promoters of energy-saving lighting solutions. Our testing procedures adhere to globally accepted standards, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of our assessments.
Through our continuous efforts, NCEEC has gained recognition and has played a pivotal role in shaping the Nigerian Lighting Standard. We are committed to advancing the quality and efficiency of lighting systems in Nigeria.
